My experience overall has been great, everyone in the office are very nice and welcoming. Dr. Snyder has helped with my skin care issues I had, within two weeks my face cleared up. I am very happy with my progress!

I rarely leave reviews, but this was one of the most disappointing healthcare experiences I have ever had. I scheduled this appointment because I have been struggling with a persistent scalp condition that has not improved despite my efforts to treat it. I came looking for answers and a treatment plan. Instead, I left feeling stereotyped, judged, and disrespected. The visit started with the physician looking at my chart and asking his medical assistant how to pronounce my first name. They went back and forth about it while I sat there. I eventually said my name myself. If he wasn’t sure, he could have simply asked me directly. The appointment quickly shifted to questions about how often I wash my hair. While that can be a legitimate medical question, the conversation repeatedly turned into assumptions about Black women, hair care practices, and whether Black women follow treatment plans. I repeatedly explained that I do wash my hair, that I have used medicated shampoos, that I shampoo multiple times when needed, and that I allow treatments to sit as directed. My reason for seeking care was that these measures were not resolving the problem. What made the interaction especially frustrating was that the physician never actually assessed my scalp before launching into criticism and assumptions. Rather than evaluating my condition and discussing possible causes, he focused on treatment adherence and repeatedly questioned whether I would follow recommendations, despite everything I had already explained. At one point, after making a recommendation, he told me that I probably was not going to follow it anyway. I responded that this was a very presumptuous thing to say. He denied making assumptions, despite having just made a statement about what I would or would not do. I also told him directly not to stereotype me and repeatedly attempted to redirect the conversation back to discussing treatment options. Instead of feeling heard, I felt dismissed. Another concerning moment occurred when he told me not to leave and discuss his comments with the front desk staff. I told him that if I had a concern, I would address it directly with him, which I did throughout the appointment. My 17-year-old daughter was present and witnessed the interaction. She was disturbed by the way I was spoken to and uncomfortable with the tone of the visit. During both of our appointments, the medical assistant repeatedly attempted to excuse the physician’s behavior by saying things such as “he’s just joking” and “he’s good at his job.” She also told us to just ignore his comments because he is good at his job and had helped clear her own skin. In my opinion, patients should not need staff members to explain away or justify a physician’s conduct. To be fair, I was given prescriptions and a treatment plan. However, the interaction was so negative and unprofessional that it undermined my trust in the physician and left me questioning the recommendations I received. Trust is an essential part of the patient-provider relationship, and unfortunately that trust was lost during this visit. I have worked in healthcare for years and have never had a provider speak to me in this manner. Clinical knowledge is important, but so are professionalism, respect, and cultural awareness. Patients deserve all of those things. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here, and I will be seeking care elsewhere.

My PCP referred me to this practice, and I was able to get an appt. the next day. The front office staff were very friendly, attentive, and professional. Dr Snyder and his assistant listened/addressed my concerns/symptoms, provided a thorough exam and explained the nature of the problem. The recommended treatment was administered, along with a future follow-up date. Overall, I was quite pleased and satisfied. I scrutinize doctors closely, but I would return to this office.

As always, Dr. Steve was extremely helpful in helping me make the best choices for my skin care. Today, Mary gave me a new treatment. I'm thrilled with every aspect of my appointment. Dr. Steve removed red spots that have been around my eyes for years! I almost cried from joy. Check out my photos... I'm 59 years old, so skincare is important to me maintaining my youthful look as much as possible. Went for my follow up appointment this week. My results are still amazing. One more treatment left for this year. I'm planning on staying proactive with Dr. Snyder's guidance in my skincare planning. So grateful for his help in my care.

Dr. Snyder helped clear both my acne and psoriasis, and I couldn’t be more grateful. From the very first visit, he took the time to really listen, explain my treatment options, and create a plan that actually worked. The results have been life-changing. His expertise, professionalism, and genuine care truly set him apart. The office staff is welcoming and efficient, and every visit has been a great experience. I highly recommend Dr. Snyder to anyone looking for real results and exceptional dermatologic care.
