Waited awhile for an appointment. Did not wait long to see PA. Very comprehensive while Body scan, abroad a little too fast to remember all new terms and explanations

Our Cigna insurance covers an annual skin check for $0 co-pay. My husband and I came to Connolly for an annual visit 2 years prior to this year and did not pay for a visit. We only paid for tests, etc. if necessary. We scheduled exactly the same in 2025. We each received a bill for our visit. We reached out to question and were told we owe the amount because we should have had our skin check at our primary care Dr. My insurance company confirmed that is not true. Connolly refused to resubmit and continued to send the bill. We will not be back.

I had my first visit on Wednesday, 8/16/2023 at 11:15. The parking area was small... about 8 spaces or so behind the building. I posted a pic of the waiting area. One patient checked out as I checked in, and I was the only one waiting to be seen. All staff members were very pleasant and professional, and the office was clean, inviting, and comfortable. The physician assistant and dermatologist gave me tips for at-home care between visits. My entire visit (from check-in to check-out) took roughly 20 minutes - this was due to completing the new patient documents before the visit, which was requested of me during an appointment confirmation call. Connolly Dermatology made a solid first impression on me, and if the reader is looking for a dermatologist in Sussex County Delaware, check this place out.

I had a cyst removed here a couple years ago. When another popped up, this office cancelled my appointment last minute, then incorrectly scheduled the following appointment. Turns out I was only scheduled for a 10 minute "visit." Considering I was the only person there, something doesn't add up. My cyst has more than doubled in size, and I'll be facing a fresh year of deductibles/max out of pocket. Avoid this place if you value your time, money, and most importantly timely healthcare. I'm sure I'll be billed for the 10 minutes of sitting in a room and 1 minute of face time as well.

I was really excited to be seen by the dermatologist at this office because they are one of the best across two states. I did not get the chance to be seen and my appointment was canceled by the office. I fully prepared to go via their self-pay option because I had a serious concern that needed to be addressed and wanted to be seen by someone with such glowing reviews. I was quite disheartened to be told that they have an office policy that they cannot accept self-pay from anyone who has Medicaid. I was first told that it was a contract issue where they could not accept self-pay from someone with my insurance and that allowing me to self pay with “jeopardize my insurance”. My insurance company said that going self-pay for something like this would be no issue with my policy. When I called back and stated as much to two different office staff members, they both confirmed that it was simply an office policy where they just do not accept seeing people with that particular insurance and will not allow them to pay out-of-pocket / use the self-pay option. Nevertheless, I still had to call back after getting a confirmation email about the same appointment because regardless to what they told me on the phone, they had not moved forward to cancel the actual appointment. It makes me question rather they actually could cancel the appointment on those grounds or simply could only discourage me from keeping it... Unfortunately, I cannot go back in time and take back the insurance information I provided when I was initially getting basic information about their office. Otherwise, I would have never given my insurance information and simply inquired about self-pay. I am genuinely disappointed and wasn’t tears as I called other offices to inquire about their policies. Luckily, I found another dermatologist with excellent reviews that I will not have to pay out-of-pocket for and who would accept my insurance. Talking to the people at this office was discouraging and quite frankly embarrassing. I have always had the chance to pay out-of-pocket when necessary for a multitude of reasons, but to be flat out told that my perceived Income was a factor and I would not be allowed to pay with my own money so was wildly unexpected. That said, medical professionals in America get to decide who they will and will not treat and why… it would of been far more embarrassing to show up for my scheduled appointment just to be turned away.
